The first edition of Tiny House Floor Plans was published back in 2012. It was a top-rated book, averaged four out of five stars on Amazon, and 450 reviews. This brand new edition is entirely new – every floor plan was recreated and updated to include stairs, window and door sizes, rooflines, unique bathroom layouts, and more.

The book is organized by tiny house size. There are nine chapters, one for each size tiny house. I focused most of my energy on designing larger (more popular) tiny houses. Here’s how the book breaks down the number of designs per size:

24 x 12-FOOT TINY HOUSES

28 x 14-FOOT TINY HOUSES

32 x 16-FOOT TINY HOUSES

36 x 18-FOOT TINY HOUSES

44 x 20-FOOT TINY HOUSES

48 x 24-FOOT TINY HOUSES

48 x 28-FOOT TINY HOUSES

48 x 32-FOOT TINY HOUSES

48 x 36-FOOT TINY HOUSES

There are 356 floor plans total in the book. Below is one example of each size tiny house found in the book.

Most of the designs in the book are houses 24-feet long or longer. I included so many of these larger sizes because they are more popular these days.

I kept the smaller houses because they can still be very useful for singles or couples or even used as backyard guest rooms, home offices, college student housing. Smaller tiny houses are also much easier to tow, so if you’re looking to travel in your tiny house, think small.

Floor plans are easy to understand, but I’ve included several heavily annotated drawings at the beginning of the book to help readers learn how to interpret the drawings. Below is an example of one of the annotated samples.

  1. Been following Michael for years, a very creative guy. Great ideas, great easy to understand designs. and a never ending creative mind as well.

  2. Awesome! Would love to have a tiny home, main floor bedroom, kitchen with regular stove with oven and large fridge with freezer, I love to cook & bake! Bath with tub/shower because have back problems! Living area with futon to make into bed,

  3. Love these ideas! We are hoping to design a Tiny Mobile Wedding Chapel that includes a small restroom in the back with a mirror, toilet and sink.
The front would be completely open in order to make space for chairs, or people could stand.

  4. Good book but would be improved if there was a scale so size can be measured off the plan.

Secondly there are many space saving innovations that people use in tiny homes so a section on that would be helpful.

Thirdly an elevation for each plan would help to show upper to lower floor relationships.
